Far and away the best guide book for archaeology, ancient and medieval history to the island of Cyprus. Stavros Panteli: Historical Dictionary of Cyprus ; CYPRUS 8vo; Hardback (no D/J; pp223. 1995. A very useful dictionary of personalities associated with the island of Cyprus since the earliest times. Not suprisingly 20th century pen-pictures comprise the majority of this book and with a useful chronology and a very thorough 'select' bibliography this book is a very handy reference aid. The price presumably is due to the short print-run, with the publisher's aiming mainly at libraries and institutions. S.J.   Order this Book at £47.05

Leto Severis: Join Us and Discover the History of Cyprus ; CYPHIS CYPRUS Demy 8vo; paperback; 1999; pp126 inc chronological table. A lovely book designed primarily for children (so just about my level) of the history of Cyprus from the earlist settlers to the present day. Well produced, informative and colourful throughout.
