Aghia Triada The summer palace of Phaistos. Magnifique!

Amnissos

Anemospelia, Archanes Certainly worth visiting in conjunction with...

Archanes   ...the summer Palace of Knossos, at Phourni.

Cave of Eileithyia

Knossos    The Granddaddy of them all! Love him or hate him, Arthur Evans excavations at Knossos remain one of the world's most important archaeological digs.

  Lebena

Malia Yes there is an archaeological site here as well as the tourist area and a rather splendid one too, Gill

Phaistos    My favourite site in Crete. Beautifully maintained and excavated by the Italian School of Archaeology; imagination is everything here - compare and contrast with Knossos.   Phaistos should be viewed in tandom with the summer palace/town of (depending on who's archaeological theory you believe) of  Aghia Triada. The world famous "Phaestos disk" can be bought there for around 5,000 drachmes and their are dozens to choose from, though the original (only one of those I am afraid) is situated in the Herakleion Archaeological Museum.
