You Clubbing?

A Worcsestershire/Herefordshire based club, for the philhellenes among you.  Events include, wine tasting, cookery competitions and demonstrations, as well as Greek plays; all this for a joining fee of a mere £7.00 per annum. Great stuff.

LIBRARIES: The Institute of Classical studies. www.sas.ac.uk/icls/
Now based at Senate House in the University of London the Institute libraries is a fantastic source for classicists especially those based in or around London. Membership costs £15 at present for undergraduates and £25-27 for others. It is well worth looking at their site, especially if you're doing research as there may well be a reduction in the costs in certain cases. Also:

Minimus Latin Project: An excellent book for learning Latin is 'Minimus'. This book doesn't presuppose knowledge of Latin even from a teaching perspective; have a look at the author's (Barbara Bell)  Minimus  page

Greek Tourist Board  Really useful for information on Greece as well as doing a fine job promoting Greek tourism. See TRAVEL

Greek Radio    (103.3FM): London Greek Radio (or LGR). Unfortunately only found in London. A medium wave alternative, for a couple hours a day, is Spectrum Radio. More research needed here, I'm afraid, for Website and wavelength.

We no longer receive Cypriot newspapers so give Marios or Kostas, at Papyrus a ring :   Telephone number 020 8348 5240. 

Greek Newspapers: Telephone Saki of the Greek News Agency on 0171 272 3585 or, during the day.  We have a daily selection of the most popular Greek newspapers ourselves but if you wish to subscribe or want a regular, fast and reliable service of Greek newspapers, Saki is your man. I'll very soon be adding links to the respective Greek and Cypriot pages of the newspapers these businesses can supply you. It will still mean that you'll have to go to the great lengths of picking up a 'phone though, if you wish to contact them. A.S.
